To our church . . .September 17, 2020
Retired four-star general, former Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Army, Jack Keane, said Wednesday that the “Abraham Accords” Peace Agreement is a mega Middle East game changer. The initiative led by President Trump and signed on the White House grounds Tuesday with Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, with more nations to follow is an amazing accomplishment. The deal marks the first Gulf country and the third Arab country to have full diplomatic relations with Israel since Israel’s declaration of independence in 1948. Egypt signed an agreement in 1979, and Jordan in 1994. The fact that President Donald Trump and the United States are major players in this peace treaty indicates good for America. Genesis 12:3, referring to being a blessing to God’s chosen people, Israel, “I will bless those who bless you . . . “ Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.” Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers . . .” We will be saying more about this Sunday as we continue our study through the Book of Revelation.
Hour of Power!
Speaking of prayer, I can’t begin to tell you how important prayer really is, especially corporate prayer where the Body of Christ comes together to seek the face of Almighty God. We meet every Sunday evening for one hour, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. My dear church family, we are living in the most critical and incredible times and we must come together to lift up the church, our families, and our nation in prayer – America is hanging in the balance and could go either way – revival or ruin. You don’t have to pray if you don’t want to; there are others who pray excellent Biblical prayers, Just come and agree with us in prayer. Please come for the next 6 Sundays.
CEF Summer Missionaries Celebration: This Sunday, September 20th, from 2 pm to 4 pm, there will be an open house in the fellowship hall for the Child Evangelism Fellowship’s (CEF) summer missionaries (ages 13-16.) There will be a special ceremony to honor them at 2:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for you to learn about CEF Lafayette. If you have volunteered to donate goodies for this celebration, please drop them off before 9 am Sunday morning or from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. Thank you.
Special Prayer: Saturday, September 26th, as we join together with the Body of Christ throughout the nation. We will let you know the specific time this week, but will probably be around 6:00 pm for an hour.
VOTE & PRAY!
If you’re not registered to vote, please get registered ASAP! The deadline to register is October 5th. We are facing the most important election America has ever had, November 3rd. Pray that illegal voters and mail-in ballots will be exposed and defeated (except for the regular absentee ballots that are accountable and can be traced)
Life Chain: Please join us for an hour of peaceful protest on Sunday, October 4th, as we take a stand for the sanctity of human life and pray for an end to abortion in our nation. We’ll be joining with hundreds of thousands of pro-life activists from across the country as we pray along Sagamore Parkway from 2:30 to 3:30. Posters will be provided by Tippecanoe Co. RTL on the day of the event. Please come prepared for the weather. We’ll be praying for sunshine and a nice breeze! Please note: this event is designed to be socially distanced, as participants are encouraged to stand 6 feet apart on the sidewalk. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer, so we will know about how many plan to participate. Thank you.
40 Days for Life: Join Lafayette 40 Days for Life! Help save babies by praying for an end to abortion in our community September 23-November 1.

Wednesday Night Bible Study: A wonderful time of refreshment in the Word. We call the Wednesday night study, “the pause that refreshes” in the middle of the week. Our current study, as we travel through the Old Testament chapter by chapter, is 2 Chronicles, taught by Pastor Eric Haley. The great thing about going through the Bible is you can begin immediately with us in the current Bible book being taught, even if it’s in the middle or end chapters, and be strengthened in your faith because the Holy Spirit honors His Word in your life exactly where you are. So don’t wait until we start a new book; start now with us this Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Church, we need the Word of God in these perilous end times. Get in the good habit of coming to this study while you can. Who knows, we could have another shutdown. Not only do we discover God’s precious truths, but the Word of God edifies and builds your souls and spirits to be strong for such a time as this. Peg and I come and thoroughly enjoy setting with you-all and take in the precious Word of truth.
Giving: Building Fund! Agree with us in prayer that God will help us pay off the remaining balance of $120K on the facility. We would like to pay off the widow; which she and her husband graciously loaned us during our reconstruction due to a church fire several years ago. Unfortunately, shortly after they loaned us the funds, her husband was killed in an automobile accident.
We continue to live-stream at 9:00 am & 10:30 am (This Sunday 10:30 am only)
