Weekly Update
November 15, 2024
This is indeed the season of Thanksgiving! Peg and I are grateful that Julie, Shiloh, Caroline, and Korban could be home for a couple weeks (Shiloh came later) and sadly, they need to return to Texas tomorrow (Friday). But it was a fun time with them, especially last week when Julie joined the rest of the Bells in the “Bell Choir.” I think that choir put a smile on everyone’s face. It was more comical than skillful. Thank you, Margie, for coordinating the Bell Choir. (:
We also are giving thanks because some of the early appointments by president elect Trump have been very supportive of Israel. Secretary of State – Marco Rubio; Secretary of Defense – Pete Hegseth; Ambassador to Israel – Mike Huckabee; UN Ambassador – Elise Stefanik; not to mention Donald Trump himself is very pro-Israel. I’m claiming those blessings for America that come with blessing Israel (Genesis 12:3)
Prophetic Watch!
In 2018, Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s choice for Secretary of Defense, shared his thoughts on the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
By World Israel News Staff
The next American Secretary of Defense, Fox News journalist and army veteran Pete Hegseth, has made comments in the past seemingly endorsing the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, Arutz Sheva reported Thursday.
A long-time and vocal supporter of Israel, Hegseth also appeared in a pro-Israel conference six years ago to lend support to Jewish aspirations to rebuild the historic Temple on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount.
In 2018, Hegseth addressed the annual Arutz Sheva – Israel National News conference, during which he lauded then-President Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city and relocating the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“When you stand there, you cannot help but behold the miracle before you,” Hegseth said. “It got me thinking about another miracle I hope all of you don’t see as too far away,” Hegseth continued, suggesting that like the Balfour Declaration, the establishment of the State of Israel, and the liberation of the Old City of Jerusalem, the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem is attainable.
“1917 was a miracle, 1948 was a miracle, 1967 was a miracle, 2017, the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was a miracle, and there’s no reason why the miracle of the reestablishment of the Temple on the Temple Mount is not possible.” I don’t know how it would happen, you don’t know how it would happen, but I know that it could happen, that’s all I know.”
Hegseth went on to back the extension of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, calling it the “critical next step” for Israel.

Sunday Morning Services Live streamed
April 24th 2020
CC Update . . .
On Sunday, March 1st , we had our annual “Healing Focus” not knowing two weeks later we would not be able to meet as a body of believers that we were so accustomed and comfortable in doing. We began “live streaming” March 15th and have been doing that for the last six Sundays. This Sunday, the 26th . will be our 7th Sunday live streaming. Things have happened so fast with the COVID-19 pandemic; I’m still shaking my head. I believe God has multiple purposes in allowing this apocalyptic event to happen, not the least of which is for we Christians to reassess our priorities and re-align our purposes with the plan and will of God. As we surrender our lives, family, and church into God’s hands, we are in a position to go forward in confidence no matter how the pandemic and meltdown of the economy plays out. I’m reminded of the words of God to Joshua, after the death of Moses, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). We can take heart with the power of God’s presence and the authority of His promises as we press on to some outstanding and supernatural works of God that lie ahead. Peg and I love you and pray for you.
Bible Studies: Our ZOOM and FB Bible Studies are going very well; I couldn’t be more pleased. The men’s and women’s studies have been going for a few weeks. We added a Wednesday night study and had fifteen people for the study. We will send the ZOOM address via email before the studies.
Live Streaming: You can reach our Sunday morning stream at 10:30 am. If you miss it, you can catch it again at 1:00 pm and the rest of the day. On YouTube type in the search, Calvary Chapel Indiana Lafayette. Note: Indiana before Lafayette. Subscribe to our YouTube channel. There’s no cost. You can also access by going to our web site: cchapel.org
Giving: We pray that God is meeting your needs during this downturn in the economy. We appreciate your faithful giving to Calvary Chapel during these crazy times. We are still able to support our missionaries, ministries, and pay all the bills, and we praise His name for that. “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
Contact: You can contact me at my email address: joe@cchapel.org, or leave a message at the church 765-477-7744 and I will get back with you ASAP! God Bless, Pastor Joe Bell

What do a cafeteria, art room, and a library have in common? ANSWER: GOOD NEWS CLUB!
Praise the Lord the good news club can meet in public elementary schools. Several schools of our area meet in cafeteria, art rooms and libraries. Ask the teachers: it is amazing to hear children singing with enthusiasm about Jesus. Some clubs even includes a pizza party {yes of coarse the children love it} and all clubs to include the gospel message. The best thing about GNC ? Children are believing in Christ as they’re Savior and God is changing lives.
If your church would like to partner with CEF and posted a good news club your community. Please call or email Sarah Carlson for more information: 765-376-4327, scarlson.laf.cef@gmail.com
